Dear Stoner Prairie Families,

We are thrilled to welcome our scholars, families, and staff back for an amazing 2026-27 school year! Stoner Prairie Elementary remains deeply committed to providing a vibrant, safe learning environment paired with rigorous academics and high expectations for every student.

As we prepare for a successful launch, here are the key highlights, academic updates, and partnership opportunities for the year ahead:

• Academic Growth & Curriculum Updates:

  • Literacy Success: Following a year of strong student growth, we are entering our third year utilizing the Savvas literacy curriculum, which continues to drive measurable progress in reading across all grade levels.

  • Multi-Level Systems of Support:  Our staff engaged in learning focused on the use of our multi-level systems of support for academic and social-emotional scholar success.  Teams met quarterly to review data and reflect on instructional practices that focused on growth for each individual scholar.  

  • English Language Proficiency Acceleration:  Stoner Prairie data was highlighted particularly at fourth grade where 5 of our 14 students reached English Language proficiency.  Small group instruction in literacy was suggested as a promising practice to be used district-wide based on these results.

  • New Science Curriculum: This winter, we will be launching Amplify Science. Our dedicated educators participated in summer training and will continue to collaborate weekly to design highly engaging, inquiry-based science lessons tailored to a wide range of learners.

• School Operations & Safety:

  • Our student services team was joined by classroom teachers at the start of this summer to consider strategies to support the continued growth of our school community.  We will continue to teach and support scholars when implementing proactive safety protocols across the entire building, ensuring a secure and smooth environment.

  • This year we are lifting a theme of Peace across the school as we launch the year with over 400 scholars.  Understanding how we problem-solve using peaceful strategies to maintain our own regulated state will be a central theme for scholars and staff at Stoner Prairie.

  • Stoner Prairie will feature 21 active classrooms this year, serving our community from Kindergarten (5K) through Fifth Grade.
